Why I Use Testing

Most people come to me after they’ve already been told their labs are “normal.” They are still not feeling well, and no one can explain why.

The testing I use is different. It’s designed to show the layers under the surface — how your hormones are actually being metabolized, how your nervous system is responding to stress, where your body is carrying the load, and what your unique biology tells us about how you respond to medicines, including psychedelic and cannabis medicine.

Testing doesn’t replace listening. It sharpens it.

What I Offer

Conventional Labs & Bloodwork Through Quest Diagnostics, I order standard and advanced bloodwork when we need it — thyroid panels, inflammatory markers, metabolic and nutritional assessments, and more. Where most doctors glance at the flagged values and move on, we look at the full picture, the patterns, and the trends over time.

DUTCH Hormone Testing Through Precision Analytics, I use the DUTCH test to map your hormones and their metabolites — estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol, and the pathways your body uses to process each one. This is the gold-standard hormone test for understanding cycle health, perimenopause, adrenal function, and what’s actually happening underneath symptoms like fatigue, mood shifts, weight changes, and sleep disruption.

Genetic Testing for Psychedelic Medicine Your genetics influence how you metabolize psychedelic compounds and how your nervous system responds to them. For clients preparing for psilocybin or other psychedelic work, this test adds a layer of safety and personalization — informing dosing conversations, integration support, and readiness assessment.

Genetic Testing for Cannabis A personalized look at how your unique genetics shape your relationship with cannabis — including metabolism, sensitivity, and clinical considerations. Especially useful for clients exploring cannabis as part of their wellness plan or navigating complex responses to it.

Bioenergetic Testing — Qest4 The Qest4 is a bioenergetic assessment tool that scans the body’s energetic signature to identify areas of stress, sensitivities, and resonance. It’s not a conventional medical test — it’s an energetic lens, rooted in traditional and bioenergetic medicine frameworks. I use it alongside conventional testing to add nuance and inform where to look next.

Neurotransmitter & Amino Acid Testing Through NeuroScience, I use urinary neurotransmitter and amino acid testing to assess patterns in serotonin, dopamine, GABA, and other key messengers — along with the building blocks your body uses to make them. This test doesn’t measure brain chemistry directly, and no urinary test can. What it offers is a window into the metabolic and nutritional factors that influence how your nervous system regulates mood, sleep, focus, and stress response.

My In-House Assessment Tools In addition to lab testing, I use a set of comprehensive intake forms and questionnaires developed over 20+ years of clinical practice — health history, symptom surveys, toxicity and burden assessments, nervous system check-ins, and readiness evaluations for deeper work. These tools often reveal patterns that labs alone can miss.

How Testing Fits Into Your Care

I don’t order testing reflexively. In our first conversation, we’ll look at what you’re navigating and decide together which tests — if any — will actually move the needle. Testing is an investment of time, money, and sometimes physical effort (collection protocols can be involved). I want every test we run to earn its place.

Results are always interpreted in the context of your full clinical picture — your symptoms, your history, your Chinese medicine pattern, your nervous system state. Numbers in isolation mean very little. Numbers in context can be transformative.

A Note on Testing

I believe in testing. I also believe in its limits.

No test can capture the full complexity of a human being. Some tests are more validated than others. Some are best thought of as one lens among many. I’ll always tell you honestly what a given test can and cannot reveal, and I’ll never order something just to order it.

The goal isn’t more data. The goal is the right data for your situation — and the clinical judgment to know what to do with it.
