Cannabis
Cannabis consultation, grounded in Chinese medicine and twenty years of clinical practice.

You don’t need to navigate this plant alone.
Cannabis is one of the most widely used — and most misunderstood — plant medicines of our time. People come to me confused about strains, overwhelmed by dispensary options, uncertain about dosing, worried about dependence, or simply curious whether cannabis has a place in their healing.
Others arrive already using cannabis daily and wondering if it’s still serving them.
My work is to help you understand this plant in your body, in the context of your life, and in relationship with the other medicines you’re working with.
Who this is for?
I support people who want to:
- Make sense of strong reactions — paranoia, dissociation, fog, emotional numbing, or loss of original benefit
- Explore cannabis thoughtfully for sleep, pain, anxiety, inflammation, PTSD, trauma, or end-of-life comfort
- Understand THC, CBD, CBG, CBN, terpenes, and chemovars — and which combinations serve their specific body and symptoms
- Refine dosing, timing, or delivery method so cannabis works with their nervous system instead of against it
- Reduce or eliminate cannabis use without shame or withdrawal discomfort
- Integrate cannabis safely alongside pharmaceuticals, Chinese herbs, supplements, or psychedelic medicine
What a consultation looks like
Every session is tailored to you. Depending on your needs, we might:
- Map your endocannabinoid system and how it’s currently functioning
- Review your current use — what’s working, what isn’t, what to change
- Explore cannabinoid ratios and terpene profiles that align with your Chinese medicine constitution
- Discuss delivery methods — flower, tinctures, edibles, topicals, suppositories — and when each is appropriate
- Examine interactions with your medications, supplements, or herbal protocols
- Build a plan for intentional use, reduced use, or integration with other therapies
- Address tolerance, dependence, or the “cannabis fog” that can develop over years of daily use
Consultations are educational — available virtually or in person in Boulder, Colorado. Sessions can be one-time (for a specific question or situation) or part of ongoing integrative care.

My approach
I come to cannabis the way I come to every plant medicine I work with — through the lens of Chinese medicine, nervous system regulation, and twenty years of clinical observation.
Chinese medicine recognized cannabis (huo ma ren) thousands of years before the modern wellness industry rediscovered it. In classical texts, it was used for pain, spasm, constipation, and to quiet the shen — the spirit. My doctoral capstone was a literature review on the history and therapeutic implications of cannabis in Traditional Chinese Medicine — a body of wisdom most modern cannabis discussions never reference.
Cannabis is sacred. Many of us have lost our connection to it — using it to check out rather than to check in. My work is to help you rebuild a thoughtful, intentional relationship with this plant, so it can serve you the way it was meant to.
Cannabis Genetic Testing
Your DNA shapes how you respond to cannabis — which cannabinoids support you, which may cause adverse reactions, and which terpene profiles align with your nervous system and health goals.
I offer a personalized Cannabis Health Report based on over 450 biomarkers in your DNA. The report includes:
- Consumption warnings — including risk factors for cannabis-induced psychosis, dependence, and adverse reactions to edibles or smoking
- Cannabinoid recommendations tailored to your unique genetics
- Terpene recommendations
- Suggested THC:CBD ratios
- Strain and product guidance
- Insights for sleep, mood, focus, anxiety, pain, and creativity
Every report is reviewed with you in a one-on-one consultation so the findings actually translate into a protocol you can use.
Haven’t been DNA tested yet? I’ll provide a kit and handle the rest. We’ll meet once your report is ready to walk through your results together.
Already have results from 23andMe or AncestryDNA? Simply share your raw data file and we can move straight to your report and consultation.
